At first, I say, that Statistics can't be a friendly subject for me. It's gonna be an equation encounter again. For someone like me, I kinda find a hard time in solving numbers. Our "Basic Statistics" Subject under Dr. Orata has changed my opinion. It was made more simple to understand and the lectures were easy to be followed. Time was consumed efficiently because even if you have to sit there for three hours, you will be filled with lots of information without your brain being stressed. But of course, there will always be a tough and challenging parts, and that's where teamwork happens >:D. Dr. Orata's way of teaching is very strategic and wise. It's been a fun and comfortable experience for all of us. Now I know what Statistics is all about. :)

    *MY STATISTICS EXPERIENCE*

Statistics is the study of the collection, organization, analysis, interpretation and presentation of data It deals with all aspects of this, including the planning of data collection in terms of the design of surveys and experiments, that is according to wikipedia.

That definition of Statistics for me is quite bloody and a tough. I admit, Math is really the worst subject for me because I have hard time dealing and coping with lessons especially to some topic that is quite complicated. I thought that this subject will going to give me nightmares, but alas! I now love it for our professor has this very good technique in teaching us the lesson although he is quite fast in discussing it. I found out that it's not that hard. We just have to listen and to comprehend attentively to his discussion. This subject Basic statistics is scheduled every Thursday 5:00 to 8:00 in the evening but I'm finding it so exciting and challenging despite the fact that its our last subject and we're quite tired and drowsy :) Thank you and may God bless us.

    My Statistics Experience

First of all, I want to say “I Love Olivarez College”  It’s a previlege for me to be a part of this school. For me, it can help me to improve my skill in order for me to have or to get more good opportunities someday. Now that I’m a first year collegian taking up Bachelor of Secondary Education, I will do my best to fulfill my dreams for my family, friends, and also to myself.
As a Student Assistant in this school, there’s a lot of things that I’ve learned. One is to socialize to others, even there are some things that are too hard in being a Student Assistant, I still enjoying it. And in my academic performance, I can say that I learns because of those professors that giving us a good quality education. One of them is Dr. Orata. When I was in High School, I used to hate MATH but because of him, I started to like it. The way he teaches us is fast, but still, we learns. How I wish that I will be like him someday in my profession.
And if we going to talk about my experience in Dr. Orata’s subject (Statistics), the most unforgettable that I had was when I used to be Pres. Noynoy Aquino on his SONA. I have to imitate what he said that time. I had feel so nervous. My classmates told me to make a short cut cause we’re running out of time. Statistics is the study of the collection, organization, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data. It is not that easy as you think but because of Dr. Orata, I learns. I hope that someone like me, a MATH hater would changed by Dr. Orata. I hope that he could help many students in order to have a better future.
As a future mentor, I will do my best to become a professional teacher someday. And if that dream will come true, I will recognize it as an owe on my professors here in Olivarez College.

    My Statistics Experience

When i heard the word "STATISTICS" I feel a bit nervous to the subject especially to my professor. Because honestly I have no idea about this subject. So I asked some higher level student and search it on the internet about Statistics. I thought STATISTICS will be very hard for me to understand but when Dr. Orata started to discuss, it is very exciting, and challenging. It makes me feel much better. I really love math, it is my favorite subject. If there will be a Math Major here in Olivarez College, I will choose it to be my major. Even Dr. Orata teach us very fast we still understand the topic. Sometimes Statistics becomes complicated when it comes to formulas, and long process of solving. But still we do our very best just to answer it correctly.
Before, I was a little bit shock when I saw my schedule that Statistics will take 3 hours. But when my professor started to teach us, I don't feel that the time are passing by, even being bored on the subject.
I hope STATISTICS will be more exciting and easy for the next 2 months left because I really enjoy this subject.
Thank you and GOD Bless :">

For the subject this is what I have felt and observed:
On the first day of classes, I felt very shaky for I am honest that I am afraid to face the world of numbers for two specific causes:
I heard from my neurosurgeon my brain's left hemisphere is the one that's weakened due to my medical condition called hydrocephalus.
This side is where Math's included.
Being a writer, I am more comfortable to jot down words than pressing numbers on a calculator starting when I entered age eight.
But here's the funny part of the story.
I have a mother who's a Mathematics teacher so most of her students say that I must be good in Math too.
Thanks to God, I had took a summer in Math one year only of my high school life.
Stats is one area in Math I love.
I took it back when I was third year.
My favorite part was probability because it tackles on a word I''m always dealing with, chance.
    For you, Dr. Orata:
Thank you for not beating me up for calling you a "Sirena".
I didn't mean to offend you when I spat that term.
If you would listen to the song, you'll get my point.
    I respect you.
Oh, by the way, I have one request.
Can you help me when I do not get the topic and refresh it?

First, I felt the nervous but this subject is challenging. I don't have any idea about the Statistics, but because of our professor Dr. Orata, I had learn a lot. Statistics is a hard subject but it is exciting to learn. It is fun to think that even Dr. Orata teaches us so fast, we can easily pick-up the lesson because of his good strategies.
Now that I'm a 1st year college student, I will enjoy my subjects even there are some of them are hard. I thank my professors on giving me a good quality education. As a future teacher someday, I want to be a good mentor too in my students. I want them to be proud of me.
And for my Statistics professor Dr. Orata, I thank you for being a approachable, knowledgeable and good professor to us. It mean a lot to me because it molds me to enhance my skills.
I hope that as our lessons goes by, I will be able to catch all those topics that we will tackle. I know that I can make it. With the help of each other and our professor, I know that things will become easier. Also with perseverance and hard working, especially with the help of our God, we will finished studying this subject.

Organization, analysis, interpretation and presentation of data that's the idea came out from my mind when i heard the word "STATISTICS". This idea came out when I saw NSO (National Statistics office). when I study in this school and took up math 3 under Dr. Orata I learn some similarities about my idea on that subject, first i have felt nervous and afraid and keep silent during statistics period because I don't know when my idea is right or wrong. But when time pass and to the help my professor little by little I understand what is statistic and I try my best to learn more about this subject. I know and honestly with my self that i want to learn more about this subject and i'm willing to cooperate to my teacher and classmate so that studying statistics become enjoyable and fun.

    Thank you and God bless!

    My essay about STATISTCS

Statistics is a fast growing subject. From its origin, statistics is being used as a tool of analysis. We were using Statistics to keep different administrative and economic records. These records relate to population, age and sex-wise distribution of population, birth rate, death rate, stock of wealth and assets etc. This information from statistics was of immense help us for our administration and policy formulations.
Statistics has become indispensable in almost all around of human' activity and knowledge. In our day today activities we are using statistics in one form or another. It has become a part of our lives and society .
Now there is hardly any subject or branch of study which does not use statistics. Scientific, social and economic studies without statistics are inconceivable. Hence elementary ideas on the subject are imperative for the students. Generally statistics means numerical data or quantitative information in an inquiry. For example: The Government was collecting data on vital socio¬economic and political matters for the smooth administration of the state.

i learn this ALL from Dr. Orata

Well, we all know that statistics is one of the most challenging branch of math. Statistic is very essential in graduating and finding a job, it is also required in every math subjects. Statistics gave and helped me in every hardships and corners in math. It helped me limit all my excess expenses for school as well as my studies. Statistics is also needed for my course that I chose in college. It helped me understood many things including things about my assets. It will help me throughout my college years until I find a great job. Also, I am thankful for my Professor who taught me and the class the topic/subject Statistics. And know I am more excited for the next upcoming lessons that we will take in the future... :)

    My Statistics Experience♥

Mathematics is one of the challenging subjects. That's the reason why many students don't like it. Many students find Mathematics as a very difficult subject because there are so many procedures or processes to do and formulas to be followed.
Mathematics is one of my favorite subjects. I find it very challenging and that's what motivates me more, to solve and to analyze the different equations.
In my own perspective, Statistics is a long method where the process of collection, presentation, analysis and interpretation of data has been shown. At first, I thought that it is hard because of how many hours we have to tackle the lessons. But when our professor, Dr. Orata is in front of the class, I found out that it's not that hard. You just have to cope up the lesson and listen attentively to his discussion. Our lessons in Statistics have their very long computations but instead of giving up easily, Dr. Orata taught us to make it easier for us to understand.
I enjoyed Statistics because it taught me to have more patience when computing :)
I never find it boring because every time it's Statistics time, my mind is always working.
The best experience that I consider in Statistics is that, I was given a chance or opportunity to express myself in front of the class. To share my knowledge by solving in front of the class, and for me, it is the best feeling :)
I really felt the happiness after that experience and it motivates me more to study harder in Statistics♥
I will do my best to understand more this subject. Thank you :)♥

As I heard the subject "Basic Statistics" from the word itself "Basic". I therefore conclude that maybe it's easy but somehow difficult But as we tackled the topics under in that subject, I found out that it's easy because I really understand how Dr.Orata explained it in the most simplest explanation and examples. You will not feel that you are staying in the classroom for almost 3hours. I really enjoy taking my Basic Statistics Subject. I learned a lot from this subject. At first I thought it will be a boring subject but as the time goes by I realized that it is very interesting and challenging subject.
I learned a lot, of course with the help of our Professor, Dr.Orata.
So far I did not encounter difficulties in that subject.:)

Then, I thought I will no longer encounter Statistics during my college years, but I was enrolled on that subject so every time we have STAT subj. I always got nervous because I really don't know what to do if I can understand the lesson easily or not,... or if I can survived for 3 hrs eventually, haha. I was wrong because when Sir Orata, our professor discuss the topic I was surprised that stat is not a hard subj. with the simple example that was given by sir,I understand it more and it was cleared to me that it is easy the way our professor explain. Then, I realized that Statistic is not a difficult subj it is very challenging and I should not hate this subject, because Statistic is very important to our daily living because it is a mathematical analysis involving quantified representation. That's all Thank You Sir. And one of my statistics experience that i could share was analyzing my subjects. On what subject I've got high grade or low grade. 30. Statistics plays a significant role in our everyday living especially to me, because I am currently taking up my education subjects to be a future educator someday. Since I will be an educator not far from today,
I can say that I am now practicing things that someday I will be doing every day Statistics may help me in different ways in the future like computing grades in the easiest way, calculating the surveys, making graphs and a lot more. But then, since I am just new in this field I am still learning all the basic things first. In this area the basic is the most important. On the first day of class, It’s bizarre because the subject is 3 hours straight. I like math but math don’t like me ever since we met. Funny though but still it’s my story with mathematics. I hate numbers there the best enemy ever!. Second, I had butterflies in my stomach because of our Professor but later on it faded away. The subject was superb because it teaches many things that we couldn’t imagine of. Honestly, I’ve enjoyed statistics because I am very comfortable and relax more than ever. No tension!, Thank God!. Finally. I’ve learned to be modest and patient. I’ve enjoyed answering and sometimes commit mistakes but well I am still just learning mistakes are essential. Eventhough, Dr. Orata teaches fast, I am shocked that I can cope up very smoothly. I don’t have to memorize formulas, It just simply pops in my head which is good :). I think that having this comfortable feeling in Sir Orata’s subject I can aim higher and I can develop myself in numbers. As the days passed by, Lessons are being taught. I know that I can do this with patience and hardwork beside me. I believe that nothing is impossible. And there is nothing that can stop me from learning things. I now know that numbers are only numbers. They can’t eat someone or tear them to pieces.
I have faced my fears with courage end integrity. I know that this is never the end of it but I will try my best so that I can be able to soar higher and farther to pursue my dreams in aiming a brighter future. Thanks to Statistics life is more easier and Faster.

Me as a customer I know what kind of product I want to buy that is connected to statistics because as a customer I must buy a good quality of product. Aside of the quality of the product the statistics there is the number of the product that I want to buy say for instance I want to buy a popular brand of chocolate, with that product I think the number how many chocolate that I need to buy. I use statistics to see our electric bill, water bill etc. it presents if our electric bill is increasing or decreasing. Statistics is

    "MY STATISTICS EXPERIENCE"

At first, when i heard the word staistics, first thing that comes into my mind was the word math.

Honesly speaking , i was not good in math subject eventhough i've experienced some competition regarding math matters when i was in grades school also because of my teachers who wanted me to do so. For me it comes with numbers, problem solving, graphs, solutions, formulas, etc that were very hard for me to understand.

I remembered when i was in high school level, my teacher told me that all the things and moves your going to do is part of math. Therefore, math is a part of our daily living. Since you wake up until you go to sleep is a part of it.

    Since then, i was confused.
Because of that, i tried to study harder when it comes to math subject and i'd realized that it was interesting.

Statistics is a study of the collection, organization, analysis, interpretation of data which deals with all aspects of planning of data collecion in terms of the design of surveys and experiments.

Every moment i study statistics, i realized and experience many things. Yes, it was hard to understand but when you listen very carefully and focus to the professor when teaching, you will start to love it. Especially when my prof assign us to do some seatworks.

For me, it serves as a challenge for myself to pursue my resistance, skills, and mind talent to finish the task and problems on time.

Statistics is a very challenging subject of course it was because of our professor who was in favor of teaching us his talent and skills that enable us to be knowledgeable regarding his profession . And i'm proud to be part of his students who's willing to learn and gain alot of things from him, especially in BASIC STATISICS .. Thanx sir Orata . :)

Math became my worst enemy since high school. It's like when I hear the word math, what comes into my mind is HEADACHE.

Despite of it, I did challenged myself and studied Aeronautical Engineering before and I failed almost all of my math subjects which led me to shift to BSIT, but still, math follows me wherever I go and here comes STATISTICS.

At first, I struggled a lot in coping with the lessons; I really didn't understand any of it. Weeks pass by and I think God has finally answered my prayer and gave me the desire to focus on it and learn. I was amazed when I saw my name on the result of the prelim exams. “82”- passed? Is it a miracle? Haha.. Thanks God!

To be honest, i don't really like math, i don't like numbers but as everyone does, I also challenge myself and take BSIT as my course, and now here comes STATISTICS.
In my first encounter to statistics, i had a bad start, I don't know why but maybe because I am always confused how did this things work out and maybe Mr. Orata's way of teaching is very confusing because he is very fast in discussing, but that's only in my opinion because I myself can't understand why I can't handle numbers well, but as I said a very while ago, I want to challenge myself, so I tried hard to understand what Mr. Orata's saying every time he's in the front of us. And little by little I watch myself reciting in front of my classmates, and now I can say numbers are so wonderful because of statistics.
Mr. Orata maybe talk to fast but it's also one of the factors why I'd liked Statistics more :)

  40. I learned more about calculations and many things in statistics. I’m so happy that our professor is good and talented. He has the techniques and skills to make the problems so easy. He is good teacher and approachable too. Many things happen when our class started, all students may participate in his class and outsiders were not allowed. If you don’t know what to do he will teach it again. All problems seem so easy for him, that’s why we learned fast and learned techniques to make it easier.

  41. ireally enjoy my statistics class because our professor is good and talented.Statistics is not only about learning math and calculations. It teaches us how to handle numerous problems, laughter and lessons that we learned in our daily lives.Statistics under Dr. Orata every tue. 5-8 pm. I find that attending this class will give me more knowledge about math which I find very hard for me, but now it change, I think it is easy and enjoyable because the lessons are well explained and seat works, quizzes, home work and major exam are challenging which help us to analyze and strive to answer the questions.

  42. my experience in statistics was very fun, yet i gained so much knowledge about it that i can apply in real life. First it was so hard to learn it, i wasn't good at numbers at all, but the interest on the subject pulled me in learning it. and of course my prof. in Statistics was a good teacher also.
He tells jokes during class, it was funny but he wasn't laughing so the students are afraid of him. But, to cut it short, it was a lot of fun learning the subject!! XD

I don't hate math but i don't love math either, i guess it's a so-so.haha. But in Dr. Orata's class i learned to see math in a different way, it's a fun, exciting and challenging experience. Those joke times, and those brain bleeding times, though i find it hard to cope at at certain topics, but overall i think i was good enough. I'never thought I'd like statistics this much. I guess, how students learn and have fun at the same time is really up to the teacher himself.

  45. Honestly, I don't like math. Specially when the teacher can't get the full attention of his/her students. But Dr. Orata, he's really good in teaching this subject.
Numbers is distracting and the students should be focused when it comes to this subject. Numbers, letters and lots of formulas, they're like a big closet full of clothes. Clothes that are disarranged. But just like math, you have to arrange it first before you solve the problem. You cannot fix a problem if you are not going to arrange your first problem, which is to fix the disarranged given or clothes.
So now, math to me more like a scattered clothes all over my room that I have to arrange. :)
